So I’ve kinda dropped of the cliff, but I found my way back. There’s lots to update so I’ll just get right to it.
Post fire, we really did have a nice time at Granny and Papaw’s. Really. Grace got lots of playtime with Granny and Papaw and had lots of "baby in a box" fun.
They only live 3 hours away so I’m sure we’ll have lots more fun visits to come, especially since Grace and the boys did so well in the car.
The older Grace gets, the more interested she gets with her furry brothers. She loves petting them and encouraging them to lick her in the face. Mostly she just wants the tags on their necklaces. I think we’ve decided that she isn’t allergic, but her face is just very sensitive to their saliva.
Grace took to sitting up very quickly and very rarely fell over in the beginning so we started sitting her up in the tub once she really got the hang of it. Plus, I was getting tired of dealing with the awkward baby tub, so we’ve moved onto a big ugly sponge, which seems to be working a little better.
Grace also took some LSU pictures at school, which are so precious, and I didn’t quite realize at the time just how lucky we were that we got a smile.
In Mommy news, I started a new job a couple weeks ago. I’m still at LSU, but now in a different department. I’m doing really well, and it’s pretty similar to what I was doing before, so it’s not a big leap.
I swear this kid gets more fun every second. She loves Mommy’s glasses and seems to be quite the little diva. I love this picture. I could just squeeze the cute right out of her.
And now the 1st real school pictures. I was so excited. I put Grace in her cutest little dress, and when I dropped her off, I told her to give a big smile for Mommy and Daddy. Well, apparently Grace was preoccupied while Mommy was talking. When I picked her up that afternoon, I was told that she would be taking pictures again the next day because she wouldn’t smile. Seriously? My baby wouldn’t smile? Seriously? So I ran out and got her a new cute little dress courtesy of Target, and we tried again. When I picked her up from school the next day, they said they think she smiled, but it was not a big one. I actually asked, “Did you pinch her?” Grace always smiles. Needless to say when I got the pictures I was a little disappointed. Not with Grace, but with the photographer. Like I said, she always smiles. I still think they’re cute, but Mommy and Daddy could have pulled off a great smile. Sadly, I think Grace is just starting to become very shy with people she doesn’t really know. But even with no smile, she’s still so stinkin' cute.
Spooky time cometh, and Grace just couldn’t handle it. She passed out at 6:30 and was done for the night. But we bombarded her with pictures and fun outfits the next day. For Halloween at school she wore her scary kitty shirt, and please take special notice to the drool on her pumpkin. Priceless!
