Just because it's funny

I can't tell you how long she stood there like that, holding those balloons, with buckets of static in her hair!

...and then she was 2!

Ah, my baby is growing up. Grace had a very good second birthday. On her birthday we took her to the New Orleans Zoo, or as we like to call it around the house, "the good zoo." She had a ton of fun, and especially enjoyed the dinosaurs and the petting zoo. I had to carry her away from the goats kicking and screaming!

Her party turned out great! She got lots of great presents and we let her eat her weight in cupcakes and pretzel sticks.

But I think the thing she liked most was to swing set Granny and Papaw got her, and the swing chair Memaw got.

First Haircut!

A month before she turned two, Grace had her first haircut. It was so exciting, and a little sad. I had put it off long enough, which led to Grace rocking a mean mullet. It was BAD! We were pretty worried she was going to freak, but she really did great. There was a super cool Taxi she got to sit in and she almost cracked a smile when it was over and she got to pick a sucker. The tantrum didn't come until it was time to get out the Taxi, and it wasn't pretty. Grace LOVES cars. We were very proud of her.

The lady did an okay job, however, Mommy will be cutting her bangs from now on. And she had the nerve to tell me, because Grace's hair is so fine, only plastic snap clips will work in her hair, not pigtails or the little clamp barrettes. Um, that's all she wears. And for the record, I can't get the plastic snap clips to stay in her hair at all.

Ooops!

Sorry for the delay! I'll do better from now on. There's a lot to catch up on, so here goes.
Did you know there's a giant magnet inside a sub woofer speaker? I mean, a really big magnet! Well I didn't, and apparently neither did Grace. I'm sure if she were aware of this little fact, Daddy wouldn't have had to take the whole speaker apart. THE WHOLE SPEAKER!!!

The lovely kitchen set, Papaw and Granny got Grace for Christmas, came with four metal utensils. Fine, until Grace decided to shove them through the speaker whole. I thought it was hilarious until I saw Jared's face. As it turns out, not so hilarious. We were able to shake and fish 3 of the 4 out, but that 4th one wasn't budging. Awesome.
Note: When shopping for surround sound, Sony Bravia is a good buy! The speakers are put together VERY well.
