The 3-Ring Freak Show

So Grace and I have been disgustingly sick this last week. Well I started feeling better today, so I thought it’d be nice for Grace and I to have a little outing. I should have just stayed in bed all day. The day started with picking up poop off the floor. Not Oakley’s poop, not Itchy’s poop, Grace’s poop. So I’m changing her diapers and while I have her up in the air cleaning her butt, she reaches down, grabs her diaper, and chucks it on the floor. The poop flies out and lands on the floor. I then need to go into turbo mommy diaper mode so I can collect her lovely specimen off the floor before Oakley rubes his face in it. He has a very unhealthy attraction to Grace’s poop; it’s gross. Once Grace was napping I was trying to get a few things picked up around the house. For Christmas Oak and Itch each got a knot rope, that weren’t lasting long, due to Itchy’s intense chewing.

So it was not uncommon to see large piles of tangled thread laying around the floor. This is what I saw on my way through the living room picking up baby and dog toys. I reached down to get it, and it was not until I grabbed that I realized I had made a very big mistake. It was not only a ball of thread but also a hugh pile of thread vomit. Super, huh? I also looked behind that sofa (Itchy’s favorite vomit hiding spot), and I bet you can’t guess what I found. More vomit. Great! So now I’ve had to pick up both puke and poop. Again, I should have staying in bed today. But the fun doesn’t end there. Because Grace is getting faster and more mobile everyday, we decided to put up a gate keeping her from the TV stand (she loves playing with the tuner) and the kitchen (the water bowl is her favorite toy). The dogs were getting rowdy and seemed to want to go outside, probably to eat more grass to make more vomit. Grace likes outside so I grabbed her up and while in the process of moving the gate out, impatient Itchy leapt from the loveseat in an attempt to jump the gate. Do you see where I’m going with this? Yeah, he landed on the gate, ripped the panel off, tried to get up and fell again. Oakley panicked, Grace laughed, and I had a mini heart attack. I thought he broke his leg. He ended up being fine, and so did the gate. Itchy is as tough as nails. He has flipped off and run into so many things, and he just brushes it off. Well that’s it, the rest of our day has been quiet, but with this family, there’s still time.
And just for fun. Check out my little mini me. She’s a little blogger just like Mommy, but poor sweet Grace just couldn’t quiet handle the pressure.

Grace’s 1st Christmas

Hooray Christmas! Christmas was awesome. Grace got tons of presents from Mommy, Daddy, and Santa. She was very nonchalant about opening presents, but once she saw them she’d get so excited. It was so much fun to watch her sit in a mound of toys and not know what to do with herself. Later that day we went to my parent’s house (to hopefully not have anything catch fire) to have some Granny, Papaw, and Memaw time. Where Grace got bombarded with even more presents. Enjoy the pics.

I love these next pictures. They’re like the three amigos!

Two Christmas’s

On Sunday we went down to the northshore to have 2 Christmas’s; one with Grams and one with Memere! Grace is definitely racking up the presents. She got a super cute giraffe, which is her favorite, with a blanket inside from Grams.

A couple days later I got a precious picture of her under the blanket hugging on her giraffe.

Next we when to Aunt JoAnn’s to see Memere or Christmas, where she got lots of love and presents from aunts, uncles, cousins, more grandparents, and great-grandparents.

Gearing up for Christmas

A couple weeks ago we finally went down to the mall for a picture with a real, “Mall Santa.” It was not all I had hoped for. We stood in line for almost 2 hours, and were grossly overcharged for a photo of the fat jolly man with our beautiful daughter.

She appears to be fully disturbed will probably need therapy, but it had to be done.
Grace is definitely not in the holiday spirit. She’s in super teething mode and has a nasty cold to top it all off. So we’ve been spending lots of time laying around watching Baby Einstein and looking pathetic.

There are however, some new things we’re working on. Grace is walking with assistance, whether it be an ottoman, a parent, basically anything sturdy enough to pull up on. We have also introduced the sippy cup. Grace is having none of it, and with all the teething going on it’s been thrown to the back burner.

Santa Daddy

There are no words.

OMG, are you kidding me!

Snow? In Baton Rouge? And not just pretend snow (normal people call this sleet). For really real snow! I was so excited when I woke up his morning. Grace is 9 months old today, so happy 9 months kid, you get snow. I was super nervous leaving the house this morning, but it got worse. I called daycare, which was currently open, and soon to be closed, so we went home. When we left the house this is what the snow looked like.

1 hour after we got home, it was 4 inches. In Baton Rouge? Yeah, I stuck a ruler in it, so what? I needed proof; we’re in Baton Rouge, people.

The dogs loved it, we loved it, Grace loved it! Well Grace loved looking at it, touching it, no so much.
The rest are just some fun picture of us enjoying our snow day. YEA Snow!

Gearing up for Christmas

So most of my Christmas shopping is done, but I needed a picture with Santa. While Jared will be dressing up as Santa again this year (another item that is not up for discussion), no first Christmas would be complete without a “Mall Santa” Christmas picture. But the lines were so ridiculous, we came back home, but don’t worry it’s coming. So in the mean time, I took tree pictures with all my kids. I gotta have something to put in my Christmas frames, right?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Grace had her first Thanksgiving, and we all have a lot to be thankful for. It was such a fun day. Granny and Papaw came over in the morning; to have some much needed play time with the little goose.

Then it was off to Grams’ house for a yummy, delicious, and nutritious meal. She ate turkey, sweet potatoes, and peach cobbler. All puréed, of course, but she liked it. But the best part was meeting Aunt Jill for the first time.

Sadly with busy schedules Grace hadn’t had the opportunity to meet Aunt Jill before Thanksgiving, but they both made up for lost time. We all had lots of fun together and I was a great treat for Uncle Josh and Aunt Jill to spend the weekend with us. Jill and I did some insane Black Friday shopping that I think neither one of us will ever do again, at least not in quite the same way, but we had so much fun. The pups also met for the first time, which was so cute. Oakley and Itchy were definitely sad to see Sam and Delilah go home. I just hope we all get to do it again real soon. Happy Thanksgiving.
